Joyce Connell-Cousins, MA (Oxon), MSc, FRSA

MANAGING DIRECTOR

Our Managing Director holds an MA (Oxon) from Oxford University in History and studied an MSc from Birkbeck University whilst working full-time for Her Majesty’s Government. She runs the UK’s only Oxbridge Mentoring Programme (OMP), helping students access Oxford and Cambridge universities. For 17 years, she has successfully advised UK and international students into world-class universities in the UK and US. In 2018, she co-founded social mobility charity Insight Outreach, donating her academic mentoring methods to help children from diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds prepare for admissions to the most selective UK universities and top medicine and law schools. Alongside academic mentoring, she runs UCAS teacher masterclasses and workshops to prepare students for the job market. Passionate about raising standards in teaching and learning worldwide, she enjoys new projects and working with like-minded others and recently Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA).

These dynamic individuals are responsible for steering the company towards its goals and ensuring the efficient operation of its projects. With diverse experience, our team collectively works to enhance the educational experience of all students on our programmes.

At Team Insight, we have access to countless Oxbridge-educated graduates as mentors; many additionally have postgraduate degrees from other top universities. We also work with experienced teachers, tutors, and qualified professionals from across the UK. Every tutor receives specific training from team Insight, undergoes a DBS check, and is screened by our management team; this guarantees quality, safety, and consistency.

Team Insight pairs students with Tutors and mentors who have taken similar academic pathways. All of our mentors remember how daunting or pressurised some aspects of education can be and can support students with insightful tips, advice, and recommendations for wider reading and activities to prepare them for their dream course and university.
